From 26 to 30 July 2021, an acceptance inspection of the next batch of products was held at EMSS. The inspection was attended by inspectors from the Turkish Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NDK), ASN, Bureau Veritas (France).
In accordance with the quality plans, six blanks of the main circulation pipeline (MCP) of Unit 3 of the Akkuyu NPP (Turkey) were delivered to the customer. The workpieces have passed a multi-stage quality check by specialists from the central plant laboratory, the technical control department of PJSC "EMSS", an authorized organization and representatives of the customer, including specialists from the ANR.
During the next inspection, the experts carried out visual and measuring control of the blanks, controlled the process of their conservation, checked the reporting documentation in the process of manufacturing and control. As a result, the products were accepted by the commission without any comments. The quality of pipe billets for the main circulation pump of Unit 3 of the Akkuyu NPP has been confirmed. Accepted products are prepared for shipment to the customer.
Let us remind you that in 2020 Energomashspetsstal PJSC successfully passed the inspection of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency of the Republic of Turkey (ANR), which extended the certificate of the manufacturer of blanks for the equipment of the Akkuyu NPP (Turkey) for a period of five years - until January 2026.
The Akkuyu nuclear power plant is being built in the Republic of Turkey on the Mediterranean coast in the Mersin province. The project provides for the construction of four power units with a capacity of 1200 MW each. The design life of the Akkuyu NPP is 60 years with the possibility of extension.
