The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has produced and supplied a set of fire extinguishing systems for a pumping station with a reverse function for the circulation of commercial oil. The prefabricated structure was developed and manufactured by TMK enterprises in Pervouralsk and Chelyabinsk, and the project was coordinated by TMK's mainline engineering division.
The pumping station allows to avoid stagnation of oil in reservoirs and to maintain the necessary quality of raw materials before its transportation. Fire safety is provided by a system of 19 welded pipe assemblies, which are assembled into a single pipeline during installation. When a fire alarm appears, foam automatically enters the pipeline, which after three minutes begins to irrigate the technological equipment with a watered solution through 14 nozzles.
The prefabricated structure was developed by the Chelyabinsk-based "Connecting Pipeline Branches" plant (SOT) and the Engineering Center of the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe), a branch of TMK. The control assembly was carried out at the SOT enterprise.
The system uses pipes with diameters from 108 to 219 mm, manufactured at TMK's branches — Pervouralsky Novotrubny (PNTZ) and Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plants. To protect the metal from corrosion for up to 30 years, a special coating has been applied to the pipes by hot-dip galvanizing, which makes it possible to safely operate the pipeline in northern climatic conditions.

SOT is part of TMK's mainline engineering division, which supplies high-tech solutions for the oil and gas processing industry, gas chemical complexes, energy, infrastructure construction and other industries. The division produces connecting and die-welded pipeline parts, supports and piping systems, block-modular, capacitive, metallurgical and peripheral related equipment, as well as insulating coatings. Design departments create complex, unique products to solve complex customer tasks. These include pipe assemblies for the petrochemical industry and complexes for the production of liquefied natural gas, a system for measuring the quantity and quality of oil, and other developments.
