Basketball players from UMMC defeated Dynamo Kursk in the women's Euroleague final. In the decisive match, the Yekaterinburg club beat rivals with a score of 91:67. Result in quarters: 21-17, 27-15, 24-16, 19-19.
The Final Four was held in the Hungarian city of Sopron. For the second time in the history of the European tournament, two teams from Russia met in a decisive match. In the semifinals on April 12 BC UMMC beat the host of the tournament "Sopron", and Kursk "Dynamo" - Prague USK.
The final meeting of the two Russian teams in Sopron turned out to be a fighting one only at the start. Already in the second ten-minute segment, the "foxes" completely seized the initiative and did not let it go until the final siren. The keys to the success of the "orange" were well-coordinated team actions in defense and attack, speed, high percentage of shots and excellent play of center Brittney Greiner, who was eventually recognized as the most valuable player in the tournament (16 points + 10 rebounds + 4 block shots).
Let us remind you that UMMC reached the final stage of the Euroleague twelve times in a row and five times won the tournament - in 2003, 2013, 2016, 2018 and 2019.
Soon, Yekaterinburg basketball players will again have to meet with rivals from Kursk in the final of the Russian Championship.
