Metalloinvest, the administrations of the Kursk region and the city of Zheleznogorsk signed a program of social and economic partnership (SEP) events for 2021. The document was signed by the Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoit, the General Director of Metalloinvest Nazim Efendiev and the head of Zheleznogorsk Dmitry Kotov. The parties' investments under the SEP in 2021 will amount to 1.6 billion rubles, of which more than 1 billion rubles is the contribution of Metalloinvest.
“Cooperation with Metalloinvest helps us to effectively solve important problems for the region,” noted Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoit. “Every year the Company increases its investments within the framework of socio-economic partnership, contributing to the dynamic development of the Kursk region.”

In Zheleznogorsk, the construction of the world's largest hot briquetted iron plant is also beginning - an environmentally friendly and high-tech production based on raw materials from MGOK. We strive to make Zheleznogorsk a modern and attractive city, to create comfortable living conditions. One of the projects in 2021 will be the development of a concept for the improvement of the city. Joint efforts and programs with the Kursk Region Administration are aimed at developing health care, education, culture and sports, urban infrastructure, and providing targeted assistance. This year, the implementation of a large project for the improvement of the park named after ON. Nikitin is the main recreation area for Zheleznogorsk residents. "
Last year, with the support of the regional administration and Metalloinvest, the city park reconstruction project won the fourth All-Russian competition for the best projects to create a comfortable urban environment. In 2021, on terms of co-financing, the reconstruction of the central part of the park will be carried out, the embankment and the boat station will be equipped. It is planned to design new public spaces, including the Alley named after A.V. Varicheva. The total investment in the project will amount to 160 million rubles.
Another important point of the 2021 program is the development of a concept for the improvement of Zheleznogorsk. Metalloinvest will involve urban experts in this work, who will help assess the possibilities and present the prospects for the development of the infrastructure of the city of miners.
In a pandemic, the Company provided large-scale support to regional medicine, allocating 461 million rubles for equipping medical institutions. This year, Metalloinvest will allocate another 120 million rubles for the repair of the Zheleznogorsk City Hospital, continue to supply oxygen for medical needs, and assist in attracting qualified personnel. “The trilateral partnership agreement has been in effect for over 10 years. “During this time, we were able to solve many pressing problems, repair roads, modernize healthcare and education institutions,” said Dmitry Kotov, the head of Zheleznogorsk. "Today we have new plans, and Metalloinvest's support gives us confidence that they will be fulfilled."
The company will allocate 90 million rubles for inspection and development of design documentation for the reconstruction of heating networks, as well as wells and pumping stations of the water intakes "Berezovsky" and "Pogarshina". It is planned to prepare an expert opinion for the construction of a back-up water supply system for the city. Providing the city with water is one of the most important tasks, the implementation of which requires large-scale investments and efforts of all parties to the partnership - Metalloinvest, the Administration of the Kursk Region and the city of Zheleznogorsk.
Within the framework of the trilateral partnership, systematic work will continue to repair and equip schools, kindergartens, sports and cultural institutions. The company will support the implementation of the School Windows program, renovate the Neptune pool, and provide support for specialized educational institutions, youth, mass and professional sports.
Together with the Art, Science and Sport Charity Foundation, a number of cultural projects are planned to be launched.
Metalloinvest's corporate programs will continue to be implemented - Healthy Child, Let's Do It Together!, Our Change, Our Champions, and Respond! New projects will also appear: "Sail of Hope", aimed at the rehabilitation of children with disabilities, and "Man is a friend to the dog" - to create a shelter for homeless animals.
The contribution of the administration of the Kursk region to the development of Zheleznogorsk will amount to more than 500 million rubles. More than 125 million rubles will be allocated for the development of road and transport infrastructure, including more than 15 million rubles for the repair of the section of highway No. 8 - the bridge over the Rechitsa river, which is very popular with the townspeople.
This year it is planned to replace about 25 elevators in residential buildings
