Based on the qualifying competitions, the winners will receive an invitation to the national team of competence and a chance to participate in the WSI Shanghai 2022.
"Despite the fact that our competence is quite young, we see that the level of training of participants is growing rapidly - each time the guys show better results, and this can not but rejoice. I am sure that we will show the highest class at the WorldSkills International championship in Shanghai in 2022! " - comments on the qualifying stage Irina Goncharova, manager of the competence "Production of metal structures".
The competence "Production of metal structures" in Russia began its development with the regional championship of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2016. It includes several skills of working with design documentation and metal: marking, cutting, bending, assembly and welding. The participants are tasked with demonstrating knowledge of mathematical calculations and geometric methods, the ability to read technical drawings, and the skills to produce structures that meet the high standards of the industry.
Dmitry Liganov, Executive Director of JSC "Plant Prodmash" and an international expert of competence, notes that " to win the national championship, participants must not only have in-depth knowledge in the field of metal working and the necessary skills, they must be stress-resistant, purposeful and ready for any challenges."
ESAB supports the WorldSkills Russia movement in the areas of "Welding Technologies", "Body Repair", "Production of metal structures" and "Sheet Metal Processing". In order to prepare for the competitions and conduct them, the company equips the welding stations with modern equipment and consumables that fully meet the requirements of the WorldSkills Russia movement.
Earlier, with the support of ESAB and the federal network "World of Welding", a competition of professional skills among 5 plants of the region was held in Omsk. The championship was held with the assistance of the Ministry of Industry and was timed to coincide with the Welder's Day.
"We highly appreciate the opportunity to develop a professional community and are aware of the importance of such events for the industry, their support from the state and business. A sustainable partnership with the WorldSkills Russia movement and support for regional competitions of excellence among production companies is a contribution to the common future, the results of which, although not immediately visible, will make themselves felt within a few years," says Dmitry Kuraksa, Managing Director of ESAB Russia and the CIS.
