JSC "Uralmekhanobr" (research and design institute as part of UMMC) will provide technical assistance to PJSC "SUMZ" (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC). The Institute will take part in the optimization of technological processes for smelting copper-containing materials, as well as in the modernization of equipment.
- Initially, we were tasked to help monitor the operation of the Vanyukov furnace complex in order to prevent abnormal situations that may arise in the regime increased productivity, - said Vladimir Kirsanov, Advisor to the General Director for Engineering at Uralmekhanobr JSC. - Subsequently, the focus was shifted to the priority of solving technological problems that allow improving the operation of units by eliminating the reasons that limit performance.
The result was a program of measures to modernize Vanyukov furnaces. Its implementation began with performing verification calculations for the operation of the waste heat boilers of the smelting unit. The equipment is designed for cooling off metallurgical gases and cleaning them from coarse dust. According to experts, waste heat boilers operate at their maximum capacity and require reconstruction. There are plans to develop a design for a waste-heat boiler with more efficient operating characteristics.
Currently, a heat engineering survey of the cooling system of Vanyukov furnace No. 1 (PV-1) is being carried out on the territory of the copper-smelting shop of SUMZ. The data obtained will make it possible to determine the state of the equipment and will form the basis for the development of basic technical solutions for increasing the service life of copper elements and brickwork of the smelting unit by optimizing the cooling system.
Vanyukov oven pharmacy (PV-1). Uralmekhanobra specialists will carry out a comparative analysis of the data obtained. The result of the work done will be to determine the optimal mode of oxygen supply for afterburning.
It is planned that the implementation of measures to modernize the Vanyukov furnaces will increase the productivity of the copper-smelting shop of PJSC "SUMZ" by 10-15%.
