Svyatogor JSC (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC) ahead of schedule fulfilled the plan for gunning (waterproofing) the southern bowl of the worked-out open pit of the Shemursky deposit of the Northern copper-zinc mine.
The result of the work, which started in April of this year, was the waterproofing of the sides and road ramps with a total area of about 9,200 square meters.
- The main goal of these activities that we are carrying out within the framework of the project for the reclamation of a depleted open pit of the Shemursky deposit , - to prevent the negative impact of waste waters on the environment, - said Mikhail Tkachenko, director of the SMCR of Svyatogor JSC. - When carrying out the work, representatives of the contractor LLC Triada-Holding Ural (Yekaterinburg) strictly adhere to the technology of laying a multilayer coating.
So, after thorough cleaning of the surfaces, the first layer of shotcrete 20 mm thick is applied, after that the basalt mesh is fixed. And already an additional 30 mm of shotcrete is laid on it. This material is designed for aggressive environments. Polyurea acts as a topcoat, which is also applied by spraying. After drying, it takes on the properties of a film. Therefore, the coating is sufficiently strong, elastic, resistant to wear and tear.
