At the Sibkabel plant (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which unites the cable assets of UMMC), a project of young inventors, participants in the competition for pupils and students "Engineering of UMMC" is being implemented. Four schoolchildren Ruslan Khamroev, David Shcherbatov, Yegor Prikhodko and Mikhail Isakov have developed a smart lighting system for an industrial enterprise, which will save up to one and a half million rubles annually.
The students independently created a layout of an innovative lighting system, consisting of several energy-saving lamps, a dimmer (regulator), a controller, a module for transmitting data to an external control device, and also wrote a new mobile application based on Adroid. By installing it on your phone, you can control the lighting in the shops from a distance - turn on and off all 242 lamps.
- The fact is that full-time shop lighting is not required. There is a need for one or another group of lamps above the currently involved production site. With the help of a smartphone, you can not only turn on the necessary lamps, but also adjust the luminous flux power, which gives additional savings, - explained the chief power engineer of Sibkabel Yegor Lakhtin.
An automated lighting control system created by schoolchildren will be launched in enamel-wrapping shop No. 2. The project is predicted to pay off in 3.5 years.
- Of course, the guys were worried, they felt increased responsibility, because they needed to organize lighting at a large enterprise. But the power engineers of Sibkabel treated our young inventors kindly: they organized an excursion to the plant and explained the nuances of the task before them, - said the head of the group Nikolay Bulakhov.
Currently, 12 projects of the winning schoolchildren are being implemented at UMMC enterprises "Engineering" with a real economic effect.
"Engineering of UMMC" has been held since 2017, during which time more than 700 children took part in it. The competition was conceived by the HR department of UGMK-Holding LLC to identify and support children with technical creativity. Themes for the development of competitive projects are offered by the technical services of the enterprises. The peculiarity of "UMMC Engineering" is that the participants get acquainted in detail with modern production, understand the current tasks of enterprises, invent and manufacture new technical devices themselves.
The "Engineering UMMC" competition was approved by the Council under the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region for implementation the project "Ural School of Engineering", in 2018, an Agreement was signed to support the competition with the regional ministries of education and industry.
