Forks made of cupronickel are considered to be the most demanded of the table set for daily use. Cupronickel forks are divided into several groups: main and auxiliary. The material is resistant to mechanical damage.

When choosing cutlery, many factors are taken into account. The dishes must have increased strength, inertness to temperature extremes, resistance to aggressive environments. In addition, the appearance is of no less importance. Melchior forks fully comply with operational and design requirements, therefore, they are considered the most popular when forming a table set for daily use.

Forks made of cupronickel are divided into several groups:

  1. Basic. Individual eating utensils. Provided to each guest at the table. Personal appliances are not adapted for serving dishes from common plates. They are divided into canteens, fish, snack bars, dessert, fruit.

  2. Auxiliary. Additional cutlery is designed for portion sharing of a common dish. Served next to the main plate.

Varieties are not limited to the standard idea of surebets. Designers develop unique shapes that stand out from the rest. At the same time, usability is preserved.

Portion cupronickel cutlery is served for each guest or family member. The place of the device on the table and the nature of the dishes depend on the format:

  1. Canteens. The most common type for eating second hot dishes, salad. The length of the device is less than the diameter of the plate. It has four prongs and an elongated handle. Served to the left of the main course.

  2. Fish. The name indicates the purpose of the device. Equipped with four teeth. Smaller than dessert. There are models with a slight recess. Put together with a table fork.

  3. Snack bars. Adapted for bacon, scrambled eggs, tartlets, tomatoes, pancakes, potatoes. Fits to the left of the fish.

  4. Dessert. Unlike other options, it has only three teeth and a compact size. It is placed on top of the plate, the handle “looks” to the left.

  5. Fruit. It is used if the table setting includes a dish with fruits. It is characterized by two teeth.

The number and nature of cupronickel cutlery is determined by the theme of the feast and the format of the dishes.

They are tools designed to transfer products from a common plate to a personal one. Differ:

  • lemon;

  • for salted fish;

  • for sprats (a device in the form of a spatula, framed by a jumper);

  • for seafood (two-pronged fork with a long handle).

The type of devices is not limited to standard configurations.

Melchior alloy is used to create everyday and collectible tableware. The popularity of metal is due to a number of advantages:

  1. Inertness to temperature rise. Due to the extremely slow heating, hot dishes do not burn themselves.

  2. Price. Melchior was created as an alternative to silver. In this regard, the devices belong to the budget category. However, in terms of operational properties they are not inferior to precious metal.

  3. Non-toxic. Does not emit harmful substances under the influence of an unfavorable external environment.

  4. Wear resistance. Subject to the rules of care, it retains its original appearance for decades.

  5. Strength. The material is resistant to mechanical damage.

The possibility of applying a decorative pattern or engraving to the alloy was also noted.

Cleaning cupronickel after each use is a must. If you neglect the rules, cutlery will quickly lose its attractiveness. The surface will be covered with hard-to-remove dark spots.

For reference! The darkening of the metal is caused by the presence of copper in the composition of the alloy. A stubborn defect cannot be removed with household detergents.

In order to preserve the original appearance and extend the life of the devices, it is recommended to follow simple rules:

  1. Wash by hand under running water after each use. Avoid cleaning in the dishwasher.

  2. Use mild cleaning products without chlorine and abrasives. The first component destroys the structure of the metal. Rigid particles damage the protective layer. The surface is covered with scratches.

  3. Avoid prolonged contact with water. Do not soak. Immediately after washing, wipe dry with a soft cloth.

  4. Remove old pollution with specialized means. Preparations are sold in specialized stores. Can't SOS
