Exports of rare earth metals from China increased significantly in June, continuing the upward trend compared to the previous month and the same period last year.
This is reported by the Global Times with reference to the State Statistical Office of the People's Republic of China, SilkBridge reports.
In June, China exported 7,742.2 tons of rare earth metals, which is 32% more than in May and 60.3% more than in June 2024.
In addition to the volume growth, the value of exports also increased: in June it reached 170 million yuan, which is 30.8% more than in the previous month. In total, in the first half of 2025, exports of rare earth metals amounted to 32,569.2 tons, which is 11.9% more than in the same period of 2024.
According to Bloomberg, in June, exports reached their highest level since 2009, indicating an increased interest from global buyers in these materials, which are used in the manufacture of powerful magnets.
