June 2019 there is a significant increase of transit of Russian iron ore production on the territory of Ukraine, which creates problems of domestic mining and processing complexes (GOKs) in the transportation of their cargo to destinations, primarily in seaports.
according to uaprom.info, stated in a letter to the Minister of infrastructure Vladislav Crickley and Minister of economic development, trade and agriculture of Ukraine Timothy Milovanova, which was signed by the acting General Director of "Northern GOK" Andrey Skachkov, General Director of "Ingulets GOK" Alexander Gerasimchuk, Director General of "Central GOK" Dmitry Shevchik, the General Director of "southern mining" Konstantin Fedin, the General Director of "Poltava GOK" Victor Lotous.
Leaders of the GOK stressed that "Ukrzaliznytsya" as tariffs and transportation gives preference to transit cargo. They are then subject to an ineffective tariff system that the growing volume of traffic results in a loss of profit in the amount of 1.2 billion UAH per year, and also apply more preferential planning system.
"All of this allows the senders of goods in transit to achieve higher rates of implementation of confirmed plans of transportations", - noted in the letter.
Heads of Ukrainian GOKs asked Cricle and Milovanova to create an interagency headquarters with the participation of the Ministry of infrastructure, Ministry economic development, trade and agriculture, representatives of mining and metallurgical complex, "uz", and ports (South, the Black sea) for the operational solution of questions of logistics of cargo of MMC; to stop discrimination against Ukrainian exporters and to revise the policy in relation to the provision of special conditions or discounts to companies transporting goods in transit; to put before the BONDS to provide task priority and full requests of the Ukrainian companies-exporters, to establish daily control over the implementation of applications for the transportation of products from Ukrainian manufacturers.
