Ministry of energy of Ukraine on behalf of President Vladimir Zelensky has completed negotiations with representatives of coal mines and PJSC "Centrenergo" which was awarded the contract to restore the supply of Ukrainian coal to power stations of state generating company JSC "Centrenergo".
To restore the work of public and private mines, as well as timely payment for coal on the part of "Centrenergo" with the assistance of the Ministry were involved in state-owned banks "Ukrgazbank" and "Sberbank". The parties reached a preliminary agreement on opening a credit line for OJSC "Centrenergo".
the loan will allow JSC "Centrenergo" to expand purchases of domestic coal. Therefore, mines that are now in downtime, restore production, and the miners can return to work. As reported in the Ministry of energy, the guarantee of restoration of goehte were received from coal mines.
"the Department of energy within its powers has made every effort to resume the work of Ukrainian miners. We expect the launch of a large coal-mining unions since Monday. The current situation has once again convinced us of the need for an integrated and systematic solution of problems in the energy industry. Further efforts of the Ministry will seek to improve the current model of the electricity market, the curvature of which led to the crisis, including for domestic miners," - commented on the reached agreement, acting Minister of energy Olga Buslovich.
in addition, the energy Ministry said that the wage arrears to the miners of the state mines, which can be paid at the expense of budgetary funds repaid in full.
At the moment, there are the arrears of wages to state mining companies, which can be redeemed only by funds received from the sale of coal products, said the press service of the Ministry.
