In the press service of the Yu. Makarova (Yuzhmash) expressed bewilderment regarding publications RBC-Ukraine, in which it is reported that " Turkey signed an agreement with Ukraine on the construction of space rockets using technology such as "Zenit-2 ".
“The source of the information indicated the Bloomberg agency, which in fact did not report the signing of the agreement. Yuzhmash, as the only manufacturer of all Zenit launch vehicles, did not participate in the preparation of such an agreement and is not aware of the fact of its signing ", - declared in the press service of the plant.
The Zenit-2 launch vehicle laid the foundation for the development and successful operation of the Zenit launch vehicle family, which is characterized by a high level of energy performance and structural and weight perfection, high packing density, and operational safety.
The first launch of the Zenit-2 launch vehicle took place on April 13, 1985. In the period from 1985 to 2004 (inclusive), 36 launches of carrier rockets were made, of which 31 were successful. In addition, the modified blocks of its first stage were used as side blocks of the carrier rocket "Energia". They successfully completed two launches (a total of 8 missile blocks).
Currently, the operation of the Zenit-2 launch vehicle has been completed due to the transfer of its tasks to the Zenit-2SLB launch vehicle.
