The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced the arrest of the property of a Russian oligarch, a Ukrainian enterprise, which is the largest producer of metallurgical alumina and aluminum hydroxide.
“At the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General, 32 million hryvnias of Ukraine’s largest producer of metallurgical alumina and aluminum hydroxide were arrested. aluminum hydroxide. The funds were on the deposit account of the State Customs Service,” the department said in a telegram channel on Monday.
The message of the Office of the Prosecutor General does not indicate the name of the Russian oligarch, but according to Ministry of Industry, refers to Oleg Deripaska.
According to the investigation, in 2000, the Ukrainian enterprise was privatized by a holding owned by a Russian oligarch.
“So far, it is under US and EU sanctions. The reason for their use was money laundering in the interests of the president of the aggressor state," the Office of the Prosecutor General said in a statement.
The department notes that the Russian holding is one of the world's largest aluminum producers, and the group of its members companies continues to meet the needs of the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, supplying its own products for the production of military missile systems and other weapons.
According to the prosecutor's office, earlier, at the request of the prosecutors, the property of this business entity was arrested - 12 land plots, a marine port, an apartment, an administrative building, production workshops, 46 vehicles, 240 units of special equipment.
“Today, the total value of the seized assets exceeds 1 billion hryvnia,” the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the State Investigation Department of the SBU, operational support is carried out by the Main Directorate of Counterintelligence Protection of the Internet State resources in the field of economic security of the SBU.
