In the first nine months of 2019, 412.8 thousand cars worth almost 2.6 billion US dollars were imported to Ukraine, reports Ukravtoprom . Of this number, only 65.3 thousand cars were new, which corresponds to 16% of the total.
Ukrainians spent $ 1.2 billion on the purchase of new passenger cars.
At the same time, the customs value of 347.5 thousand imported used cars was $ 1.4 billion.
Compared to the same period last year, the import of new cars increased by 17%, and used cars - 3.8 times.
Most of all new cars from January to September were imported from Japan - 13.6 thousand units.
In second place is imports from Russia - 8.6 thousand new cars.
7 thousand cars arrived from China to Ukraine, and this is the third result.
Germany has become the leader in the supply of second-hand passenger cars. In ten months, 89 thousand used cars were imported from Germany.
The second result is in Poland, from which 53.5 thousand used cars were imported.
Import from Lithuania turned out to be not much less - 53.2 thousand cars.
Let us remind you that in the three quarters of this year, only 4,579 passenger cars were produced in Ukraine, SKD assembly of which was carried out by the Transcarpathian plant "Eurocar". All cars assembled at this enterprise are intended exclusively for the domestic market of Ukraine.
