the Number of new solar power plants in the United States this year will increase by a third, according to the report of the American Association for the solar industry and energy research firm Wood Mackenzie released a report on Thursday.
According to the report, this year, the American solar energy reaches capacity to 18 gigawatts, enough to power over 3 million homes. This is 9% less than predicted earlier, before the outbreak of the coronavirus caused a delay in the construction of weakened consumer demand and limited access to financing.
But, as noted in the report, solar energy USA, set a new record, and it is expected that in 2020 will be set to 14.4 GW of new capacity.
the share of solar energy accounted for 40% of new capacity in the U.S. in the first quarter, far more than the capacity of natural gas and wind.
Recall that on 10 June the government of Ukraine approved the project of a Memorandum of understanding with investors and manufacturers of "green" electricity, which provides for the termination of construction of new solar power plants since July of this year. The same project envisages the reduction of the green tariff for solar power by 15%.
