Lifting unit ThyssenKrupp decided to focus on three key factors: hygiene technologies, solutions, social distancing and contactless technologies to prevent infection in the elevators and escalators in public places.
"Pandemic actually became the driving force of certain Megatrends that will impact the overall further development of the industry of mobility. In recent years, we researched various technologies, such as intelligent monitoring facilities, remote control, robots for disinfection of premises and more. Today, we have appropriate solutions to protect passengers during a pandemic. In addition, we also offer innovative technologies for the future, which is beyond the scope of modern urban mobility", explains Peter Walker, Director General of the ThyssenKrupp Elevator.
In the field of "hygienic solutions" range of development ranging from thorough purification of air in cabins of elevators and automatic disinfection of handrails to installation of thermal imaging cameras for the detection of infected passengers. Using a special foot switch, the passenger can call the cabin is a simple tap of the foot instead of having to press buttons or touch the screen with your hand. The software will limit the number of passengers per Elevator car to maintain the necessary physical distance.
