Deputy Minister of energy of Ukraine on European integration Yaroslav Demchenkov, and representatives of the Federal Ministry of Economics and energy of Germany, the Ministry of energy, Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Saee energy Agency DENA, the hydrogen of the Ukrainian Council discussed the benefits and necessary steps for the development of hydrogen technologies in Ukraine and Germany.
In his presentation Yaroslav Demchenkov said: "the global trend of decarbonization of hydrogen is increasingly seen as an integral part of the future energy. It is important that already today, the EU considers Ukraine a priority partner in the implementation of the European hydrogen strategy. We are open to dialogue and we, in Germany the country-a candidate for leadership for the introduction of hydrogen technologies."
"Ukraine, indeed, has considerable potential in the production of "green" hydrogen and existing infrastructure for transportation. And we are ready to develop cooperation with Germany in this direction", - said acting Chairman of Saee Konstantin Gur and added that the Agency is analyzing international experience, technologies and practices use of hydrogen.
As noted by the participants of the meeting, the "green" hydrogen is the tool that will ensure the decarbonisation of energy, industry and transport. The use of hydrogen technologies will help solve existing challenges for the power system of Ukraine, namely:
the-
the
- balancing of the power system; the
- reliable power supply; the
- long term storage of renewable energy; the
- redistribution of daily and even seasonal variations in electricity demand.
Another area of application of hydrogen is added (10-15%) to natural gas and transportation of gas system, including in Europe.
the Prospects of development of this direction and developments presented Alexander Repkin, President of the Ukrainian Council of the hydrogen - Ukraine's first hydrogen energy Association.
following the meeting, the participants agreed to continue the partnership and stressed the need for:
the-
the
- develop the concept and roadmap of the production and use of "green" hydrogen the
- analysis and development of the required standards of production, transportation, storage and use of hydrogen; the
- processing of opportunities to run pilot projects; the
- to promote investment in this area.
In the Saee stressed that the development of hydrogen technology may be one of the promising future energy partnership between Ukraine and Germany.
