The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has successfully completed negotiations with the International Monetary Fund on the draft budget for 2021, which is a key condition for starting negotiations with the lender on the next tranche.
The main focus of the negotiations concerned the formation of a common vision of the main budget indicators with the IMF - a framework for revenues, expenditures and deficits.
Ukraine entered into a $ 5 billion loan deal with the IMF in June to combat a sharp slowdown in economic growth. But the IMF has postponed its mission to Kiev, awaiting clear signals that the authorities will continue reforms.
"The parameters of the budget for 2021 coincide with the estimates of the Fund's specialists, which was important for the continuation of successful cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF," the ministry said in a statement.
