In the port of Mariupol, two ships with a cargo of steel billets are stuck in ice

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, two vessels "FEDERAL EMS" and "PATRA 3" cannot leave the Mariupol International Seaport. reports the port press service on Friday.

The loading of these vessels was completed on December 6 and 7, but due to a strong northeast wind, the sea level dropped (today it is 23 cm less than normal) and the vessels cannot pass through the canal and leave the port water area.

Both vessels, which are loaded with steel billets - slabs and are to sail to Italy and the UK, are forced to stay at the berths, waiting for more favorable weather for safe navigation.

In icy conditions, before mooring ships, tugs have to break the ice at the berths. Portal cranes work only where it is possible to do without manual labor, in grab or magnetic modes, for loading /unloading wagons.

Recall that four ships on the way to the port of Mariupol are in the roadstead near Kerch and, due to strong winds, cannot pass into the Sea of Azov under the bridge.
