Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant (DMZ), a member of DCH Steel of Alexander Yaroslavsky's DCH Group, will allocate more than UAH 15 million for the implementation of the energy saving program in 2020-2021.
The press service of the plant said that last year major repairs were carried out on the spark plugs of excess blast furnace and coke oven gas, which made it possible to avoid leaks of energy resources. As of today, the work on replacing the outdoor lighting on the territory of the enterprise is almost completed.
7 frequency converters were installed in the rolling shop No. 2 for blowing fans of electric motors of stands No. 1-8, and about 70 lamps were replaced with energy-saving lamps in three spans.
Also, the lighting on the conveyors C-4 and U-1 of the coke-chemical site has been replaced.
The company expects that the modernization of lighting will significantly reduce energy consumption. In addition, working conditions will improve as the illumination from LED lamps is much higher.
