According to the updated data of the OP "Ukrmetallurgprom", in January-July 2021 metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced:
- agglomerate - 19.93 million tons (107.6% versus January-July 2020);
- bulk coke (6% wet) - 5.75 million tons (102.0%);
- pig iron - 12.65 million tons (107.8%);
- steel - 12.73 million tons (107.4%);
- rolled stock - 11.33 million tons (106.4%);
- pipe products - 0.57 million tons (121.2%).
As of August 12, 2021, of the main operating production facilities, 19 out of 21 blast furnaces, 7 out of 8 open-hearth furnaces, 14 out of 16 converters, 5 out of 15 electric furnaces and 16 out of 17 continuous casting machines are in operation .
Provision of production with basic raw materials and energy resources
Iron ore raw materials:
The provision of metallurgical enterprises with Ukrainian iron ore raw materials in January-July 2021 was carried out in accordance with the needs of metallurgical production. No iron ore was delivered on import.
Iron ore exports for 7 months of 2021 amounted to 26.08 million tons (96.5% compared to the same period in 2020)
Coking Coals:
For 7 months of 2021, 7.64 million tons of coking coal were supplied to Ukrainian coke-chemical enterprises (99.5% relative to January-July 2020), of which:
- of Ukrainian origin - 2.30 million tons (111.4% compared to the same period in 2020);
- imported - 5.34 million tons (95.2% compared to January-July 2020).
The share of imported coals in the total supply in January-July 2021 amounted to 69.9% versus 73.1% in the same period in 2020
Cox:
The total volume of coke produced by metallurgists in 7 months of 2021 amounted to 4.876 million tons (103.6% compared to the same period in 2020), of which:
- of Ukrainian origin 4.709 million tons (100.7% compared to the same period in 2020).
- imported - 0.167 million tons (521.9% compared to January-July 2020)
The share of imported coke in the total volume of supplies for 7 months of 2021 amounted to 3.42% against 0.68% in January-July 2020
Imported scrap metal:
In January-July 2021, 2,222 thousand tons of scrap metal were procured (142% relative to the same period in 2020), of which 1887 thousand tons (122% against January-July 2020) were supplied to Ukrainian consumers as imported .
Exports of scrap metal in January-July 2021 amounted to 335 thousand tons (1941% compared to the same period in 2020).
Natural gas and electricity:
For 7 months of 2021, domestic metallurgy consumed about 1150 million cubic meters of natural gas (107.5% compared to January-July 2020).
Electricity consumption by metallurgical enterprises for 7 months of 2021 amounted to about 6.7 billion kWh (104.5% compared to January-June 2020).
