The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has launched an industrial route for a wide audience at the Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ) "The pipe is calling!" — now everyone from the Sverdlovsk region and other regions of Russia can enter the workshops of the enterprise as part of special excursion groups. The tour introduces guests to the history of the city and the factory, production achievements, technologies and products.
The industrial route was developed by the company's specialists with the involvement of factory technologists and was evaluated by experts at the Department of Socio-Cultural Service and Tourism of the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.
N. Yeltsin. The six-kilometer route includes an introduction to museum and industrial facilities.
During the tour, the guests visit the PNTZ Museum and Exhibition Center, pipe rolling workshop No. 8 and workshops for the production of petroleum grade pipes. In addition, while traveling between sites by bus, tourists are introduced to other facilities of the PNTZ, which are located along the way: pipe rolling workshops No. 1 and No. 5, a balloon shop, an autonomous thermal power plant, and the AQA Genesis sewage treatment plant complex.
Groups are formed once a month, you can sign up for an excursion by e-mail. promturism-pntz@tmk-group.com . In order to comply with the requirements of occupational safety and industrial safety, tourists over the age of 14 can visit production sites.
"TMK is systematically engaged in the development of industrial tourism — we are launching the second industrial route for a wide audience. The opening of modern production facilities for guests allows the company to solve the tasks of preserving and promoting historical and industrial heritage, demonstrate technological achievements and concern for the environment, increase staff engagement and support the regional economy. It is equally important that this activity is aimed at forming and developing a regional identity, strengthening the connection of residents with their territory," said Anna Trepalova, head of TMK's industrial tourism department.
"The PNTZ is open to those who want to see the production of steel pipes and assess the scale of this process with their own eyes. Our goal is not only to introduce our guests to technologies and products, but also to increase the attractiveness of working professions, inspire young people to choose engineering specialties and create innovative projects. Before launching the route for all guests, we tested it — since May 2024, 2.5 thousand students and schoolchildren, representatives of TMK, government agencies, Russian and foreign enterprises have visited the tour," said the managing director of PNTZ
