TMK became a partner of the team competition for solving industrial problems

The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and the TMK2U Corporate University became a partner of the team competition for solving industrial problems "I am an engineer". The event was held at the site of the Ural Federal University (UrFU).

The participants were asked to solve two relevant engineering tasks that are as close as possible to real production processes. In the direction of Materials Technology, it was necessary to propose solutions to improve the quality of the welded joint of drill pipes with friction-welded locks. In the field of Engineering Engineering, the participants developed technical proposals for the creation of a self-propelled transfer trolley for transporting workpieces that can withstand extremely high temperatures up to 900 degrees Celsius.

TMK experts and mentors accompanied the teams during the work and evaluated the submitted projects: employees of the Sinarsky Pipe (SinTZ) and Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling (ChelPipe) plants, as well as the corporate center in Moscow. According to the results of the competition in the direction of "Materials technology", the team of "Innovatiki" won, in "Engineering engineering" — Gesti.tech (Gesti.tech).

"TMK is interested in attracting talented and motivated young professionals. The "I am an engineer" project allows you to evaluate their practical skills in conditions of limited time, teamwork and solving real production tasks. Such formats help identify engineers who will be ready to work with the most complex production challenges tomorrow," said Elena Pozolotina, TMK's Deputy General Director for Personnel Management and Director of TMK2U Corporate University.

The "I am an engineer" competition was held in two rounds. At the first, correspondence, stage, the participants passed thematic testing. About 140 students, college students and schoolchildren took part in the face-to-face stage. 30 teams solved six tasks in six areas of industry. The winners received a cash prize.
