The branch “Production of polymetals” of JSC “Uralelectromed” (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC) has received a modernized diesel locomotive TGM6N-UMMC. The locomotive has undergone an in-depth modernization of almost 95% at the Shadrinsky Automotive Aggregate Plant (an enterprise of the UMMC machine-building complex). Only the bogie, together with wheelsets and a brake system, remained unchanged.
According to the director of the branch, Alexei Benner, the locomotive has undergone technical re-equipment under the equipment modernization program. It is the sixth locomotive in the park of Polymetals Production.
- We are gradually moving towards increasing the reliability and safety of technological machines, equipment and constantly improving the working conditions of personnel, - he noted.
The locomotive has been modernized in accordance with the most modern requirements for the operation of shunting locomotives. It is equipped with a hydraulic power transmission, a diesel engine with a long service life: three years of continuous operation before overhaul.
The reliable design of the diesel engine is equipped with an electronic control system and allows to exclude during this period repair or adjustment work associated with a complete , or partial disassembly of the engine throughout its entire service life. Also, the engine management system provides diagnostic functions and storing the most important information about the operation of the diesel in memory. Thanks to the new engine installed on the modernized diesel locomotive, the annual effect of fuel economy, in comparison with the unmodernized locomotive, will amount to 1.5 million rubles.
The diesel locomotive with a capacity of 1217 horsepower uses a microprocessor control system, which is connected into a common communication network with all nodes and units.
Created in the driver's cab comfortable working conditions: traffic control is carried out using a joystick, visibility from the workplace is improved, an air conditioner, heaters, a refrigerator and a microwave oven are installed.
The locomotive will be involved in the shunting work of the Kalata station when supplying raw materials to the fronts unloading, placing dump cars in the briquetting workshop, placing gondola cars for loading in the metallurgical workshop.
