Mednogorsk (Orenburg region)
At the briquetting section of the copper smelting shop of Mednogorsk MSK (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC), the repair of drying furnace No. 1 has been completed.
The largest unit of technological equipment in the briquetting section is a drying oven, which is a rotating cylinder 24 m long and 2.5 m in diameter. Its service life, before the complete replacement of the body, is on average five to six years. The new furnace body was manufactured in the city of Orsk at the Uraltsvetremont enterprise, its twelve parts were then delivered by road to the MMSK, where they were assembled into a single whole by the repairmen of the plant and the contractor.
The charge is fed into the drying furnace by a rotary loader with which the new furnace body is equipped. It was made at the mechanical section of the overhaul workshop of the enterprise. By design, the loader is an internally lined furnace with a steel rotor for transferring the charge to the drying oven. The main source of heating the furnace is natural gas, which is supplied through a special burner.
Recall that in the briquetting section, copper concentrates are agglomerated on Köppern presses to obtain a briquette of uniform composition and geometrically regular shape, which are then used in technological process of shaft furnaces of a copper-smelting shop. The productivity of UB MPTs is up to 800 tons of briquette per day.
- Now coming commissioning works. Instrumentation and control specialists are setting up, checking parameters. In addition, the contractor LLC "UCMR" is testing the technology of a new briquette unloading unit. With the launch of the unloading unit at full capacity, an overall decrease in the number of overloads will occur, which will lead to a decrease in the requirements for briquette strength by 20% and, as a result, to save binder, - says Sergey Zakrevsky, shift foreman of the briquetting section of the MPTs.
We add that the total costs for the overhaul of the drying oven with a rotary loader amounted to about 14 million rubles. The total weight of the metal structures used for the repair is 60 tons.
