What is a high voltage motor? What are their benefits and where are they used? We will tell you in our new article on the topic of high-voltage electric motors.

Modern electric motors are distinguished by modification and power, playing an important role in technological and industrial production. High-voltage type motors can be confidently attributed to the most significant and effective modifications of power plants. Today they are actively used in fans, machine tools, industrial plants, screens, smoke exhausters and other mechanisms.

Design features of high-voltage motors

The operation of high-voltage motors is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, which causes the rotor to rotate. Given the high vibration loads, the body of such motors is made of reinforced steel or cast iron, which makes the motor quite heavy in weight.

For convenient and stable control, frequency converters are used here, which allows flexibility adjust the speed. Modern high voltage motors are characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to cope with large load. The main advantages of such equipment include the following:

  • high efficiency, which reaches a rate of 96%;
  • simple but reliable design, which provides simple operational care and maintenance;
  • the ability to work on AC power at 50Hz, and with a voltage of over 1000V;
  • a wide area of practical use;
  • the ability to confidently withstand critical high and low temperatures.

Among the most popular electric motors are the A4 series models, which can be operated indoors under normal environmental conditions. If equipment with an enhanced security system is required, DAZO electric motors are purchased.

Types of high-voltage power plants

Despite the wide variety of electric motors, all installations of this type can be divided into 2 large groups:

  1. Synchronous. Devices where the rotor frequencies converge with the activity of the radiation of electromagnetic fields, which increases efficiency and stabilizes the reactive current voltage. li>
  2. Asynchronous. The basis of such motors is the ability to successfully operate with a changing voltage frequency, which makes them universal for use. In 90% of cases, industrial enterprises use motors of exactly the asynchronous type.

When choosing a suitable electric motor, parameters such as energy resistance class, type of design, possible operating modes, cooling method, as well as the level of protection and operating conditions.
