Emirates Steel, the only integrated steel company in the UAE and its subsidiary General Holding Corporation (SENAAT), has received two patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for inventions in the field of continuous casting.
According to the company's press office, the patents obtained in the United States confirm Emirates Steels' status as an innovation leader in the regional steel industry, as well as a commitment to creating a culture of innovation in the UAE.
The first patent provides a method and system for controlling an energy converter through the use of artificial intelligence to avoid electrical interference in production equipment. The innovation provides greater stability in the transmission of electricity from the grid to production facilities and has applications for the renewable energy industry as well as industrial applications.
The second patent uses a method of continuously casting two or more long strands using one continuous double strand line, which consists of two auxiliary strands. The new technology enables a more efficient and stable production process that ensures better quality of the finished product.
