The designers of the scientific and technical center of KAMAZ PTC have developed a new model of the electric bus, the production of which will start this year, the press service of the enterprise reported on Monday.

According to Samat Sattarov, Director for Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC, the new model of the electric bus includes improved batteries with a larger capacity, which will increase the autonomous run of the electric bus from 50 to 80 km.

“The transition from a diesel heater only to the electric part is in line with the global trend of increasing the environmental friendliness of transport, and we are also moving in this direction,” explained Samat Sattarov. - In addition, we are switching to the climate system of one of the international leaders Thermo King. We have reduced the acoustic noise in the driver's area by changing the power steering system. And, importantly, our new electric bus meets the system of international safety standard ISO 26262, which in the future opens up the markets of foreign countries for us, "Sattarov noted.

The company also said that the Russian regions are already showing high interest in innovative electric transport: recently, the test operation of the KAMAZ electric bus was completed in Kazan, now this instance is being tested in Belgorod. Such experience will allow potential consumers to evaluate the efficiency of environmentally friendly electric transport, its convenience, high consumer properties.

“For three months of testing in Kazan, our electric bus traveled more than 14 thousand km and carried about 38 thousand passengers. We hope that the test operation will be further transformed into a promising contract for the supply of electric buses for the capital of our republic. Now the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan and KAMAZ are actively working on the financing of this contract, - explained Samat Sattarov. - We also held a number of meetings with the leadership of Bashkortostan. In addition to Ufa, Perm, Voronezh, Cherepovets are also active, so we will plan further test operations in these regions. ”
