On October 11, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted decree No. 1231-r "On the transfer of the integral property complex of the state enterprise" Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Steels, Alloys and Ferroalloys "to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. >
On the basis of the State Enterprise "UkrNIISpetsstal" it is planned to create a Certification Center for products made of special steels, alloys and metallurgical materials science.
The Center will carry out certification and assessment of compliance with the requirements of technical regulations of products of domestic enterprises in strategic industries. Its appearance will become the key to successful and safe business, entering foreign markets. The establishment of the Center will reduce the time and material costs of domestic enterprises, because earlier the certification had to be done abroad.
SE "UkrNIISpetsstal" was selected to create the Center, taking into account the availability of material and scientific and technical base, 55 years of experience in the relevant field; advantageous geographical location - in the center of a large industrial region of Ukraine, well-established pilot production of metallurgical products for special purposes.
The work of the Center should contribute to an increase in the export of competitive, certified according to international standards, metal products made of special steels and alloys, as well as products made from them, import substitution of the corresponding types of products, primarily for the needs of the military-industrial complex.
The State Enterprise Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Steels, Alloys and Ferroalloys was founded in 1962, and since August 28, 2007 the Institute has become a state enterprise. Located in the city of Zaporozhye. The institute includes research divisions, a pilot plant with a full metallurgical cycle, including smelting, refining remelting, forging, rolling, production of metal powders, and plasma coating.
