On December 16, 2020, the first meeting of the Working Group on the establishment of the Center for Certification of Products from Special Steels, Alloys and Metallurgical Materials Science (hereinafter referred to as the Center) was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Yuriy Petrovsky.
The meeting was attended by leading experts in the field of production, use, standardization, certification and material science research of special steels and alloys designed to meet the needs of the defense, energy, aviation, space and other strategic industries of Ukraine, scientists from industry and academic institutions, representatives of industry associations.
As a result of the meeting, the working group made a decision to create a Certification Center for products made of special steels, alloys and metallurgical materials science on the basis of the State Enterprise "UkrNIISpetsstal".
The meeting participants also worked out the draft Regulation on the Center for Certification of Products from Special Steels and Alloys and Metallurgical Materials Science, determined its organizational structure and tasks.
The Center will carry out certification and assessment of compliance with the requirements of technical regulations of products of domestic enterprises in strategic industries. Its appearance will become the key to successful and safe business, entering foreign markets and preventing unforeseen expenses. The creation of the Center will reduce the time and material costs of domestic enterprises, because earlier the certification had to be done abroad.
The Institute UkrNIISpetsstal was not accidentally chosen as the base for the creation of the Center, given the availability of material and scientific and technical base, 55 years of experience in the relevant field; favorable geographical position - in the center of a large industrial region of Ukraine, established pilot production of metallurgical products for special purposes.
The work of the Center should contribute to an increase in the export of competitive, certified according to international standards, metal products made from special steels and alloys, as well as products made from them, import substitution of the corresponding types of products, primarily for the needs of the military-industrial complex.
The Working Group includes representatives of state-owned enterprises "Lutsk Repair Plant" Motor ", Yuzhmash, Yuzhnoye Design Bureau named after M.K. Yangel, NPK Zarya - Mashproekt, NPKG Zarya - Mashproekt, Zaporozhyestandartmetrologiya, Ivchenko-Progress, V. Malyshev Plant, Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Motor Sich JSC, I N. Frantsevich National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Metal Physics. G.V. Kurdyumov National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Novomoskovsk non-ferrous metals plant, associations of enterprises "Ukrmetallurgprom" and "Ukrtsvetmet".
