Ukrainian NIBULON and French OSEA agreed to build 5 border boats

NIBULON Shipbuilding and Shipyard LLC and the French company OSEA solemnly signed an agreement on the construction of 5-speed patrol border boats of the OCEA FPB 98 MKI type as part of a government project to strengthen the maritime security and border protection of Ukraine.

The document was signed online by the director of the NIBULON shipyard, Bogdan Muzyka, and the head of the OSEA supply department, Gonzag Delannoy.

The signing ceremony was attended by Oleksiy Vadatursky, General Director of NIBULON, Andriy Vadatursky, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NIBULON, the leadership of the Regional Department of the Maritime Security of the State Tax Service of Ukraine and representatives of the independent certification body Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine. The French side is represented by OCEA General Director Roland Josard, OCEA Maritime Safety Director Philippe Neri and other representatives of the company's management. Also, the conclusion of an important strategic agreement was assured by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Goncharov.

“This is another step to increase the capacity of the“ NIBULON Shipyard. Therefore, I congratulate our shipbuilders and wish you success in the implementation of this large-scale project for Ukraine, in order to traditionally bring any started business to the expected result, "says Oleksiy Vadatursky.

This event was a logical continuation of cooperation between countries and companies and a direct condition for the construction of 5 boats by the NIBULON shipyard in Ukraine. All in all, within the framework of the government project, the Ukrainian-French team will build 20 high-speed boats.

“This is a really big event, to which Ukraine has been going for almost 3 years. Starting with the intergovernmental framework agreement between Ukraine and France in Paris in 2019, the ratification of the intergovernmental agreement in 2020, the agreement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Tax Service with OCEA in 2020, a memorandum between OCEA and our company, as well as numerous diplomatic negotiations - and high-speed patrol boats ending today at Ukrainian plant ", - notes Oleksiy Vadatursky.

The French company should launch the first boat before the end of this year. Let us remind you that OCEA independently chose NIBULON as the only contractor suitable in terms of experience and technology for localizing boat production in Ukraine. This choice was made taking into account the modern facilities of the plant, professionalism and high quality of work, which the shipyard has been demonstrating over the years in shipbuilding.

Today, the separate legal enterprise LLC "Shipbuilding and shiprepairing plant" NIBULON "is the most modern in Ukraine. The shipyard successfully continues to implement a rich production and ship repair program, is constantly mastering advanced solutions and new achievements of the industry, specialists are constantly improving their own level of skill, and thanks to the new project, the enterprise will also master modern technologies for working with aluminum alloy, which will significantly expand the range of ship production. Along with the construction of complete vessels of various classes from steel, the plant will also build aluminum vessels for various purposes, including special ones, which will significantly expand the export potential of the Ukrainian shipbuilding industry and bring the enterprise to a new level both in the domestic and international markets of small and medium-sized shipbuilding and ship repair.
