The State Energy Efficiency Agency of Ukraine is establishing a dialogue with the key EU player in the field of cogeneration - the European Association for the Promotion of Cogeneration COGEN Europe. The association has more than 60 members and includes more than 70% of the cogeneration market in the European Union.
The head of the State Energy Efficiency Anna Zamazeeva held talks with the head of the COGEN Europe association, Marco Pesaglia.
After the negotiations, in the near future it is planned to consider the entry of the State Energy Efficiency into the association.
“This will give us even more opportunities for cooperation with European colleagues, access to the latest technologies and solutions, study of the EU experience and attraction of investments. In fact, this is another step towards European integration,” Zamazeeva explained.
Already today, the State Energy Efficiency Agency is actively working on the development of the necessary legal framework in order to create conditions for the development of highly efficient cogeneration, taking into account the requirements of the EU.
“Highly efficient cogeneration is among Ukraine's priorities. This is an energy-efficient, reliable and cost-effective solution for heat and power supply to Ukrainian communities. The construction of small biomass cogeneration plants is especially important during rocket attacks from Russia,” Anna Zamazeeva explained.
