Ukrainian industrial company "Interpipe" intends to maintain its position in the Eastern markets, in particular - in Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey and Thailand, the press service said.
Interpipe took part in the international exhibition Eurasia Rail 2023 together with Turkish partner Özar Group Railway Systems. At the same time, it is noted that this is the largest exhibition of the railway industry in the region and one of the largest in the world. Every year, Asia's leading rolling stock manufacturers, infrastructure technology providers and railway logistics operators gather in Istanbul on this platform.
“For Interpipe, the Turkish market in particular and the Asian market in general are extremely important. The company has long been cooperating with the Turkish Railways (TCDD), as well as with logistics operators in other countries of the region, such as Saudi Arabia, India, Thailand,” the press service of the Ukrainian company noted.
They added, that “Our goal is to maintain our position, and participation in the exhibition is a good opportunity to maintain relationships with partners and customers.”
According to the results of the first quarter of 2023, Interpipe reported an increase in steel production by 13% in in annual terms, up to 184 thousand tons, pipes - by 12%, up to 105 thousand tons. While the production of railway products decreased by 13%, to 20 thousand tons.
The positive dynamics was the result of the lifting of strict restrictions on electricity consumption in March and a low base of comparison due to simple production last year, the company noted .
“Starting from the middle of the quarter, the company's plants returned to stable operation, without “torn” schedules. This made it possible to increase production by the end of the quarter, and in some segments, for example, in the pipe division, to somewhat approach the pre-war level,” Andriy Korotkov, CEO of Interpipe, said.
