On February 23, 2021 at the state enterprise ANTONOV, a meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the state concern Ukroboronprom, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and about 20 industrial enterprises of the aviation industry of Ukraine in order to discuss the possibility of creating in Ukraine a competitive heavy high-altitude strike reconnaissance unmanned aircraft complex (LHC). UAVs of this class today are produced by only a few countries in the world: the USA, Israel, Turkey, China.
The main idea of the meeting is the creation of an innovative product by the forces of the aviation industry of Ukraine.
SE "Antonov" and SE "Ivchenko-Progress" presented their vision of the platform for the future UAV, and the aviation industry made messages about their readiness to join the strategic unmanned aerial complex program in order to equip it with avionics, intelligence systems, shock functions and ground control station.
Based on the results of the discussion, the meeting participants decided to support the initiative to create this unmanned aircraft complex by the efforts of domestic manufacturers of aviation equipment and to formulate proposals for a cooperation scheme for the implementation of this program. Also at the meeting, it was decided to carry out a draft design on the working capital of cooperative enterprises and submit it to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and other potential customers.
