The overhaul of the mixer has been completed in the converter shop of the Dnieper Metallurgical Combine (DMK). In due time, the specialists completely replaced the refractory masonry of the unit body and performed the accompanying work on the repair of electrical equipment.
Upon completion of the last stage of overhaul - revision of the unit's aspiration system, the operation of all units and mechanisms in the commissioning mode was checked, after which the mixer was filled with liquid iron and its full technological load was turned on.
According to Mikhail Anosov, deputy head of the DMK converter shop for engineering, during the mixer downtime, steel production in the shop continued without interruption.
The mechanical part of the overhaul was carried out by contractors from Industrial Technologies of Ukraine LLC, Stroykomplekt LLC was responsible for the power equipment, and the GOR specialists carried out the bulk of the refractory replacement repairs.
Now the repaired unit works reliably and provides the necessary technological preparation of liquid iron - equalization of temperature and averaging of the chemical composition before it is fed to the converter compartment and is poured into the converters.
