An automated air quality control system has been installed at 23 industrial enterprises in Krivoy Rog - the inspection began with the Severny GOK of Metinvest.

The State Environmental Inspection (SEI) in Krivoy Rog questioned the reliability of these air quality monitoring posts installed on the territories of industrial enterprises. told to the journalist of the First Kryvyi Rih »Head of the Department of State Environmental Supervision (Control) of Industrial Pollution SEI Alexander Skakalsky.

In connection with these suspicions, environmentalists are planning to check the air quality monitoring posts installed on the territories of industrial enterprises of Krivoy Rog.

The first check has already begun at the Severny Ore Mining and Processing Plant of Metinvest. This enterprise is one of the largest generators of industrial waste in Ukraine.

The Commission will check the effectiveness of the implementation of measures for dust suppression on the territory of the industrial site, tailing dumps, sludge collectors, dumps, open warehouses and on highways.

As a reminder, in 2020, the amount of funding for health, safety and environmental measures for Metinvest's enterprises in Kryvyi Rih increased by 1.3 times and amounted to UAH 991.3 million.

Today, the module "Eco-monitoring", which combines data from all automatic air quality monitoring posts in Kryvyi Rih, highlights data from 31 posts, of which 5 are urban, 23 are industrial enterprises located in the zone of influence of their production activities and 3 post of the Karpov territorial community.

The enterprises of Central GOK, Ingulets GOK, Severny GOK, Metinvest-KRMZ LLC and Kryvyi Rih Cement PJSC installed dust meters at automated stations that determine the concentration of fine dust for PM10 and PM 2.5 fractions, the norms of which defined in WHO recommendations and Directive 2008/50 /EU of the European Parliament and the European Council.
