The threat of pollution of the World Ocean and global warming: challenges for every inhabitant of the planet

The problem of pollution of the World Ocean is one of the most acute environmental disasters of our time. More than 10 million tons of plastic waste, oil and chemical pollutants enter our waters every year. This leads to the death of marine flora and fauna, disruption of ecosystems and, as a result, threatens the well-being of all inhabitants of the Earth.

The example of Wawada Island in the Sea of Japan demonstrates how global problems affect even the most remote corners of the planet. Plastic debris carried by currents fills the banks, posing a serious threat to the local ecosystem. Warming waters caused by climate change are leading to the destruction of coral reefs and the death of fish.

The threat to the world's oceans: why it concerns everyone

Ocean pollution and global warming have already had a catastrophic impact on the planet . More than 80% of plastic waste ends up in the ocean, where it takes hundreds of years to decompose, killing marine life and disrupting food chains. Islands such as Vavada mirror in the Sea of Japan are becoming symbols of crisis as their ecosystems collapse from - for debris carried by ocean currents.

Warming oceans are causing water levels to rise and destroying coral reefs, which provide 25% of biodiversity. This threatens not only tropical regions, but also the coastal zones of post-Soviet countries. The problem is especially relevant for rivers such as the Dnieper and Volga, which carry pollution into the ocean that affects the entire ecosystem. Residents Cities, blind to the problem, often do not realize that climate change and pollution threaten drinking water, agriculture and the general environment.

What can be done?

  1. Reduce the use of plastic. Develop waste recycling and abandon single-use packaging.
  2. Support environmental initiativesJoin coastal cleanups and participate in volunteer projects.
  3. International cooperation Sign agreements to reduce carbon dioxide and plastic emissions pollution

Ocean pollution and global warming are not a distant threat, but a reality that requires action from everyone. It depends on us whether we can preserve the planet for future generations. Refusal of plastic, respect for nature and participation in environmental initiatives are steps that will help change the future.
