On September 17, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov arrived in the Karaganda region to get acquainted with the work of production facilities. The Minister visited the site of CHPP-2 of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, where work is underway on the construction of boiler No. 7.
During the meeting, Vladimir Yablonsky, Production Director of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, and Jalaj Malpani, Director of Transformation of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC, briefed the Minister on the current activities of the company and the work of CHPP-2, and Andrey Paramonov, its Director, spoke about scheduled repairs at the main equipment.
Further, representatives of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" acquainted the Minister of Energy with the process of installation work on the boiler No. 7 under construction and spoke about all its advantages. It will be able to run on different types of fuel, including natural gas. In order to reduce emissions, advanced wet scrubbing system technology will be introduced - a double-circuit emulsifier. The boiler plant, designed and manufactured by the Podolsky Machine-Building Plant, will produce 420 tons of steam per hour. The power of the boiler will be enough to provide Temirtau residents with stable heat and hot water.
“In September 2023, we plan to complete the installation work, then carry out commissioning work and put boiler No. 7 into operation in November,” said Vladimir Yablonsky.
