BMZ is not only strengthening its position in the sale of its main range of products - metallurgists continue to actively develop new types of products. For example, the technology for the production of continuously cast billets (bloom) from rail grades of steel has been introduced, and the production of high-tech steel wire for cutting mono- and polycrystals of silicon has been mastered. By the way, in the CIS countries the Zhlobin enterprise is the only manufacturer of this wire.
“Over the last 12-14 years, very serious investments have been made - more than a billion dollars. Two new production facilities were built. At the end of 2023, the share of innovative products in the total volume of shipments amounted to 41%, with plans for at least 26. In total, in 2023, we mastered 128 types of new innovative products, in total we shipped 190 types of such products - almost a million tons,” noted BMZ General Director Dmitry Korchik.
In 2024, BMZ plans to continue implementing investment projects. Now they are aimed mainly at improving the environmental component of production, the so-called green metallurgy, saving energy resources, and concern dust and gas collection plants. The plans are to complete such a project on one of the furnaces and begin the second installation.
