Satisfying the growing interest of mining companies in switching vehicles to alternative environmentally friendly fuels, the Belarusian Automobile Plant, together with partners, continues to implement breakthrough projects. According to the press service of BELAZ, the company is starting serial production of dump trucks with engines operating in gas-diesel mode.
To date, the BELAZ-7513S mining dump truck with a lifting capacity of 136 tons with an engine based on Cummins KTA50-C has been successfully tested. In the future, it is planned to equip 220-ton BELAZ trucks with a gas-diesel system.
On May 25, top managers of ComAp Systems (representative of the Czech company ComAp in Russia), TechnoEko (Russia) and KAMSS (official partner of Cummins in Russia) paid an official visit to BELAZ.
During the negotiations, an agreement was reached on complex supplies of equipment for the production of quarry equipment with engines operating on the dual-fuel technology "dual-fuel". With such an engine, the dump truck will work for up to 15 hours without refueling, about 30% of diesel fuel is replaced by natural gas (the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and the level of gas pollution in open pits will decrease), the energy efficiency of the production process of transporting rock mass will increase by 20%.
