Automobili Lamborghini SpA, an Italian luxury sports car manufacturer published today the electrification plan for the the name Direzione Cor Tauri (Way of the Bull). As part of the plan, all Lamborghini vehicles will be hybrid by the end of 2024 and fully electric in the next decade.
“Lamborghini's electrification plan is a new course needed in the context of a radically changing world. We want to do our part by continuing to reduce our environmental impact through specific projects, ”said CEO Stefan Winkelmann.
In 2021–2022. the company plans to develop vehicles with internal combustion engines that will pay tribute to the company's history. Lamborghini will present two models with 12-cylinder engines this year.
The next step will be hybrids: in 2023, the company plans to launch the first production car. By the end of 2024, all Lamborghini vehicles will be hybrid. Now the Lamborghini lineup consists of the Urus crossover and the Aventador and Huracan supercars. The company's internal goal at this stage is to reduce CO 2 emissions by 50% by the beginning of 2025, the message says. In four years, the company plans to allocate 1.5 billion euros for the transition to hybrid models.
The final step, slated for the second half of the decade, will be the launch of the first all-electric Lamborghini.
In addition to reducing 2 CO emissions, environmental protection, supply chain sustainability, attention to employees and corporate social responsibility are integral parts of the adopted strategy.
