Mariupol port workers summed up the volume of steel products transshipment for 2021. Compared to last year, steel sheet processing increased by 114 thousand tons, pig iron processing increased by 220.9 thousand tons, and the volume of rolled steel processing almost doubled and amounted to 1.24 million tons in 2021.
“The modern market is challenging us and our enterprise has enough capacity to not only increase cargo turnover, but also handle such cargoes that require specialized loaders, crane facilities, cargo handling devices and technologies,” said the head of the port Igor Barskiy.
An example of the introduction of the latest technologies in the Mariupol port is a specialized complex for transshipment of steel sheet, which has no analogues in other ports in Ukraine.
The operation of this complex allows you to reduce the cost of work, improve the quality of services provided for the preservation of steel sheet and the utilization of warehouse space, as well as reduce the time for using wagons.
