“DTEK Energy continues to actively supply coal to the Ukrainian energy system. These days we are meeting the seventh and eighth Panamax ships, which deliver 158 thousand tons of fuel. Also in January we expect the arrival of the ninth vessel with imported coal. In total, this is 215 thousand tons for the needs of Ukrainian thermal power plants. The coal imported by the company, in addition to its own production, should help our thermal power plants, if necessary, bear additional load. This will help support the Ukrainian energy system during peak periods of electricity consumption, ”said Ildar Saleev, CEO of DTEK Energy.
In total, DTEK has contracted 9 ship supplies. This is about 618 thousand tons of coal for the needs of Ukrainian thermal power plants. The first ship, contracted by the company for the needs of state-owned TPPs "Centrenergo", arrived in Ukraine on November 20. Five Panamaxes for the needs of DTEK Energo TPPs arrived during December. Three more ship deliveries arrive in January.
In December, the company imported about 350 thousand tons of coal by sea. For a stable passage of the heating season, the company has contracted more than 1 million tons of imported fuel from the USA, Poland, Kazakhstan (in previous periods).
