Vadym Novinsky's company Smart Maritime Group in 2021 increased its revenue by 17% to UAH 440 million. According to the press service of Smart-Holding, in 2021 Kherson and Nikolaev shipyards upgraded 6 bonfires and repaired 51 ships.
In particular, 6 coasters of the Dutch company EEMS Werken were modernized, as a result of which the hulls of the ships were lengthened by 12 m due to the insertion, they also became 2-hold (before the project was 1 hold), and the deadweight increased by an average of twenty%. During the execution of the contract, SMG specialists used about 900 tons of metal for the manufacture of structures.
In 2021, a project for the manufacture of metal structures for the construction of a bridge across the Dnieper River was successfully implemented as part of the Great Life program of the President of Ukraine. A contract was also completed for the manufacture of five navigation signs (buoys) for State Enterprise "Derzhgidrografiya".
The consolidated revenue of the company's divisions from the sale of marketable products at the end of the year amounted to about 440 million hryvnia, which is 17% more than in 2020.
The growth in revenue from ship repair contracts and contracts for the modernization of ships is due to the high quality and timeliness of fulfilling contractual obligations, a significant expansion of the circle of customers due to the intensification of the work of the Marketing Directorate, and the development of the production of new types of metalworking products.
The positive image of SMG as a reliable manufacturing partner made it possible to conclude new shipbuilding contracts at the end of 2021: the construction of two hulls of dry cargo ships with a deadweight of over 5 thousand tons for Bodewes International Shipbuilding B.V. (Netherlands) and construction of a pusher tug with traction force for KRANSHIP (Ukraine). In addition, the option includes the construction of two more ship hulls for a customer from the Netherlands.
The gradual recovery of economic ties after the coronavirus restrictions, the market demand for cargo ships has led to shipowners investing in the repair of the existing fleet.
