The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine held a meeting on the implementation of the Roadmap of measures necessary to overcome the crisis situation of the country's only uranium mining enterprise, State Enterprise Vostochny Ore Mining and Processing Plant.
The meeting was held with the participation of the management of SE "VostGOK", SE "NAEK" Energoatom "and representatives of industry trade unions.
Based on the results of the meeting, the Ministry of Energy will appeal to the Ministry of Finance to speed up the process of allocating part of the funds in the amount of 100 million hryvnia to solve urgent problems with the payment of wages to employees of SE "VostGOK".
“The Ministry of Energy is ready to help the enterprise, taking into account its importance for ensuring the energy independence of the country, as well as the social factor that the plant provides. Within the limits of its competence, the ministry has taken a number of necessary measures to preserve the enterprise strategically important for the economy of the state, ”stressed Yuri Vlasenko.
In particular, the Ministry of Energy in May 2021 appealed to the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a proposal to provide partial coverage of the costs of producing uranium concentrate in the amount of UAH 600 million from the state budget.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the personal responsibility of the management of the state-owned enterprise for the timely payment of wages to employees and called for optimal use of funds, ensuring payments under protected articles.
