The State Service of Geology and Subsoil (Gosgeonedra) of Ukraine will hold a repeated auction on August 9, 2021 for the sale of subsoil plots with deposits of copper ores of the Zalesy-Shmenki ore field, with an area of 2336.7 hectares, located on the territory of the Ratnivsky district of the Volyn region.
The prospective resources of the object are classified according to the P2 category and amount to 160.0 thousand tons.
“Currently, copper mining in Ukraine is not carried out. In 2020, we imported copper products - refined copper, cables, alloys (brass /bronze), rolled products - for USD 2.9 million and exported USD 6.55 million due, in particular, to the processing of copper-containing scrap, ”explains the chairman Gosgeonedr Roman Opimakh. - “Ukraine is able to establish production of its own copper by developing proven deposits and studying promising ore occurrences. This will contribute to providing the domestic industry with Ukrainian raw materials and reducing imports of copper, its alloys and semi-finished products, increasing the country's export potential. ”
The previous auction for the sale of the lot is considered invalid, due to the failure to deposit money by the winners of the auctions within the prescribed period. The objects have been re-exhibited without reducing the initial cost for the acquisition through the participation of subsoil users in the online auction.
According to information about the auction held on June 23, the winner of the electronic bidding for the copper ore site" Ore-bearing field "Zalesy-Shmenki", located in the Ratnivsky district of the Volyn region, was recognized LLC "Foundry" Symbol "(Vinnytsia), which offered UAH 81.005 million at a starting price of UAH 42.567 thousand, excluding VAT.
For the first time, the largest copper deposit in Ukraine was up for auction this February. Then the site with copper deposits in the Volyn region of Ukraine went up in price by 483 times at the auction.
