Metallurgical slags are used in road works in the near future. This was stated by infrastructure Minister Vladislav Crickley, commenting on the government adopted decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On application of waste products in road construction".
"This decision of the Government, in particular, allows to get rid of dependence on imports from the Russian Federation of building materials in particular bitumen. It will also allow you to save money during road works, quality will be at the proper level", - said Vladislav Crickley.
"Already-established base of normative-technical documents based on both domestic and European experience in this matter. These rules reglamentary requirements to technological processes and the components of road concrete, the main of which is the use of only high-quality Portland cement and slag," - said the Minister of infrastructure.
Now in the implementation of public procurement of construction works and services for maintenance of public highways necessary to provide for application of non-price criterion "measures to protect the environment" with its specific weight not less than 10%.
In contracts for construction, repairs of public roads in Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolayiv, Kirovohrad regions provides for the use of industrial wastes (metallurgical slag, fly ash, etc.), relevant regulatory documents on environmental labelling and Declaration.
At present, the price criterion was the only criterion used by customers to perform repair and construction works on motor roads of General use to determine the Contracting organizations.
As stated in the Ministry, this decision should improve the environmental situation - the waste does not pollute the environment, and "work" in favor of the company.
