After the reconstruction, new gas cleaning equipment and electrostatic precipitators made in Italy and Denmark have already been installed on four sintering machines of sintering shop No. 2.

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih continues a large-scale eco-modernization of sinter shop No. 2. This is one of the company's key investment projects, which will significantly reduce the industrial load on the region and the city. To date, five of the six sintering machines of the shop have been modernized: No. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6. Each - with the introduction of a modern gas cleaning, aspiration and automation system.

Last fall, the company performed the reconstruction of sinter machine No. 2, which is currently undergoing hot tests. In the course of modernization, the sintering machine was replaced with a gas cleaning device and an ignition furnace for a more modern and energy efficient sintering trolley with an increase in the sintering layer up to 450 mm. Also, a new electrostatic precipitator was built and a complete replacement of the sintering machine gas system, linear cooler and its blowing fans was carried out. The gas manifold is equipped with new double-cone valves and a closed-type dust conveyor to prevent dust. In addition, the buildings and structures included in the sintering machine complex No. 2 were repaired. In the course of the work, new efficient systems for aspiration and automation of the technological process were introduced. This will significantly reduce dust emissions on the sinter machine and achieve higher productivity and equipment reliability. After reconstruction, four sintering machines of sinter shop No. 2 have already been equipped with new gas cleaning equipment and electrostatic precipitators made in Italy and Denmark. Also installed are new incendiary horns with an energy efficient ignition system, which helps to reduce the consumption of natural gas. As a result of the renovation of the second sinter shop, dust emissions from each of the six sintering machines will be reduced by 250 tons per year. The total cost of the project for the reconstruction of sinter shop No. 2 is over $ 180 million.
