Uralvagonzavod (part of the Concern UVZ is part of the State Corporation Rostec) signed a contract for the production of a large batch of innovative rolling stock. According to the contract, by September of this year, the Nizhny Tagil enterprise will manufacture 3,053 innovative gondola cars of model 12-196-02.
Gondola car model 12-196-02 was developed by the specialists of Nizhny Tagil JSC "Ural Design Bureau of Car Building" (part of the Concern UVZ is part of the State Corporation Rostec). They have been manufactured at Uralvagonzavod since 2015. In March 2021, the jubilee 40,000th innovative car 12-196-02 rolled off the factory conveyor in a solemn atmosphere.
“Gondola car model 12-196-02 occupies a central place in the product line of innovative products of UVZ. It was created taking into account the existing stringent requirements of the railway infrastructure. Today Uralvagonzavod performs a number of contracts for the supply of not only serial, but also specialized rolling stock, which provide additional loading of production facilities.
